Laxmibai’s husband and Father-in-law are cloth merchants. She completed her high school education. She has two children of School going.Financial crisis cropped up as soon as they got separated from joint family.
With meager income of the family they struggle a couple of years to sustain. During this time she has heard about Saadhana from friends and enrolled into Saadhana. She used 1st, 2nd & 3rd loan amount to expand their business. She says “Saadhana provided us livelihood and made us live happily”. She raised 4th loan amount of Rs.15, 000/- from Saadhana and actively associated herself in the business jointly with her husband. She invested entire amount in business only. They bought bales of mosquito net cloth and cotton cloth from Ahmadabad made petticoats and various sizes of mosquito nets. Monthly they bought around 5 bales of cloth of this type. On demand of local whole sale dealers they made petticoats. She has 6 sewing machines at home. She is helping other Saadhana group members by providing her machines to stitch petticoats. On an average she gets Rs. 5/- on each petticoat and she pays Rs.1.25 to these women as stitching charge of each petticoat. Now her Brother- in- law is staying with them to assist the business. With the profits on business she is clearing her house loan. She is residing in a cemented house of 4 rooms. She extends her thanks to the staff of Saadhana for helping in financial crisis.
