BACKGROUND
MPEA
2005 (Micro Finance Process Excellence Awards 2005) is the joint initiative of
ABN AMRO Bank and PlaNet Finance to foster a culture of process management in
Microfinance Institutions and improve the management functions at the
institutional level. The awards would be given in recognition of the best
practices evolved and followed by Microfinance Institutions in Six
Awards would be given to two microfinance institutions in each of the three
categories of awards (MPEA – Flint,
MPEA – Flame and MPEA – Fire). The categories have been created based on the
scale of the MFIs in order to provide equal opportunity to institutions of all
sizes to nominate themselves to be awarded.Saadhana won the Micro Process Excellence Award in

WINNING
OF “MICRO INSURANCE AWARD – SHIMMER, 2007”
ING Group and PlaNet Finance India instituted Micro insurance Awards 2007 (MI Awards 2007) to identify existing
best practices and innovations in need assessment, product design and delivery
mechanisms implemented by institutions active in providing micro insurance and
to build an inventory of the existing approaches within the micro insurance
sector. The initiative also aimed to promote design and development of new
targeted products and delivery mechanisms for micro insurance in India and to
create awareness amongst MFIs and NGOs about micro insurance in general and
IRDA Micro insurance Regulations 2005, in particular. Following this over 47
organizations from around the country had sent in their nominations. The
selection was made on the basis of their commitment and an innovation in the micro
insurance program and, SAADHANA is
one amongst the winners!! |

Saadhana ranked 15TH best MFI by Forbes Magazine
|

Saadhana
has been ranked one of the Best MFI in the world by Forbes Magazine. The Forbes
Magazine has compiled its first ever list of Top 50 Microfinance institution of
the world and Saadhana MFS got 15th rank. They did this
exercise based on the data provided by The Mix, M-CRIL and MICRO RATE. |
| Forbes first-ever list of the World's Top 50 Microfinance Institutions were chosen
from a field of 641 micro-credit providers. The list was prepared by the Microfinance
Information Exchange (www.themix.org)
under the direction of Forbes magazine. |
